Lisbon Christmas Lights 2025 — Official Switch-On
The Lisbon Christmas Lights 2025 once again transform Baixa, Chiado and Avenida da Liberdade into one of the most magical Christmas walks in Europe.
The official switch-on is expected during the weekend of 22–24 November, featuring thousands of LED lights, festive decorations and activities across Lisbon’s main squares and avenues.
🕕 Dates and opening hours
The lights will be on daily from 22 November 2025 until 6 January 2026:
- Every night: 18:00 – 23:00
- Fridays, Saturdays & holiday eves: until 24:00
- Christmas Eve: normal schedule
- New Year’s Eve: extended hours past midnight
✨ Main illuminated areas
- Avenida da Liberdade — arches, garlands and colourful displays.
- Rossio — light installations and the iconic Christmas tree.
- Rua Augusta — a light tunnel leading to the triumphal arch.
- Praça do Comércio — waterfront lights and large festive tree.
- Chiado — decorated façades and boutique shopping streets.
