1. Metro — The Easiest Way to Get to Estádio da Luz

The Metro is the fastest and most reliable way to reach the stadium.

Blue Line → Recommended Stations

  • Colégio Militar / Luz — Closest station (3–4 min walk)
  • Alto dos Moinhos — Also nearby (5–7 min walk)

ONDEBUS Tip: Arrive early on match days — stations get crowded.

Typical Frequencies

  • Weekdays: 6–8 min
  • Weekends: 8–10 min
  • Post-match: usually reinforced service

2. Carris (Urban Buses)

Several Carris bus lines stop within a few minutes of the stadium:

  • 726 – Sapadores ⇄ Pontinha
  • 765 – Campo Grande ⇄ Benfica
  • 703 – Charneca ⇄ Benfica
  • 767 – Campo Mártires da Pátria ⇄ Pontinha
  • 729 – Algés ⇄ Bairro Padre Cruz
  • 750 – Algés ⇄ Oriente

Best Stops

  • Av. Eusébio da Silva Ferreira
  • Av. do Colégio Militar
  • Rotunda da Luz

3. Carris Metropolitana — Best for Those Coming from Outside Lisbon

These lines are ideal if you’re coming from Carcavelos, Oeiras, Queluz, Monte Abraão, Massamá, or Barcarena:

  • 1601 – Carcavelos ⇄ Amadora Este (Metro)
  • 1717 – Queluz / Monte Abraão (CP) ⇄ Colégio Militar / Luz (Metro)
  • 1721 – Massamá / Barcarena ⇄ Colégio Militar / Luz (Metro)

Lines 1717 and 1721 drop passengers right next to Colégio Militar / Luz. Line 1601 connects Carcavelos to Amadora Este — from there simply take the Blue Line to the stadium.

4. CP Trains — Useful Combinations

There is no CP station next to the stadium, but combining train + Metro is easy.

From the Sintra Line

  • Sete Rios → Blue Line → Colégio Militar / Luz

From the Cascais Line

  • Cais do Sodré → Green Line → Baixa-Chiado → Blue Line → Luz

From the Norte / Oeste Lines (Entrecampos)

  • Entrecampos → Yellow Line → Marquês de Pombal → Blue Line → Luz

5. Walking from Colombo Shopping Center

Many fans meet at the Colombo Shopping Center before matches.

  • Distance: 250–400 meters
  • Time: 3–5 minutes

6. Going by Car — Should You?

You can, but it’s not recommended, especially on match days.

Parking Options

  • Official stadium car parks (fill up quickly)
  • Colombo parking (paid, very busy)
  • Residential streets in Benfica / Sete Rios (very limited)

Expect 30–45 minutes to leave the car park after big matches or concerts.

7. For Concerts & Events

Transport options are identical — Metro is always the best choice.

  • Security checks may take longer
  • Phased entry
  • Long queues after events

8. ONDEBUS Tips

  • Arrive at least 1 hour early for major events
  • Top up your Navegante or Zapping beforehand
  • Use the “Colégio Militar” exit for easier access
  • For families, side entrances are usually calmer
