How to Get to MEO Arena (Altice Arena) in Lisbon — Transport Guide 2025/2026

MEO Arena (formerly Altice Arena) is one of Portugal’s largest indoor venues, hosting concerts, family shows, sports events and conventions. It is located in Parque das Nações, one of Lisbon’s best connected areas.
This guide explains how to get there by Metro, CP trains, buses, car and on foot from Oriente, and how ONDEBUS can help you choose the best route.

1. Getting to MEO Arena by Metro
For most visitors, the Metro is the fastest and simplest option.
Red Line → Oriente station
- Use the Red Line of the Lisbon Metro.
- Get off at Oriente station.
- From Oriente it’s about 4–5 minutes on foot to MEO Arena.
Typical Metro frequency
- Weekdays: around 6–8 minutes between trains.
- Weekends & evenings: around 8–10 minutes.
Advantage: you avoid traffic and parking queues and have a direct link to the Airport, Alameda, Saldanha, São Sebastião and other key stations.
2. Getting to MEO Arena by CP trains (Gare do Oriente)
Gare do Oriente is one of Portugal’s main railway hubs and is just a few minutes’ walk from MEO Arena.
It is served by:
- Sintra Line (some services continue or terminate at Oriente).
- Azambuja Line.
- Northern Line (regional, Intercidades and Alfa Pendular long-distance trains).
When you arrive, follow the signs to the north exit and walk towards the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre. From there, head towards the river — MEO Arena will be clearly visible on your right.
3. Buses to MEO Arena (Oriente / Parque das Nações)
Several urban and metropolitan buses stop near Oriente and along Av. Dom João II. They are useful if you are not close to the Metro.

4. Walking from Oriente to MEO Arena
If you arrive by Metro, train or bus, you will probably end up at Oriente. From there the walk is easy and fully pedestrian.
- Distance: about 450 metres.
- Time: around 4–5 minutes.
Suggested route:
- Go up to the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre level.
- Cross the centre or exit directly towards the river side.
- Once outside, walk towards the river. MEO Arena is on your right, near the waterfront.
5. Getting to MEO Arena by car
Driving is possible, but on sold-out nights it may be the slowest option, especially when leaving.
Parking options nearby
- Car parks at Centro Vasco da Gama.
- Car parks around FIL – Lisbon Exhibition and Convention Centre.
- Underground parking near Casino Lisboa and the Oceanarium.
After big concerts, leaving the car park can take 30–40 minutes. Whenever possible, ONDEBUS recommends using Metro or train.
6. Where to eat before or after the show
Within 10 minutes’ walk you will find:
- Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre — food court and restaurants.
- Waterfront (Passeio do Tejo) — restaurants, terraces, burger places, cafés and ice-cream shops.
- FIL area — on fair days, additional fast-food stalls and kiosks.
7. ONDEBUS tips for events at MEO Arena
- Arrive at least 1 hour earlier for large, sold-out events.
- Check the time of the last Metro and trains for your line.
- Buy your return ticket before the show to avoid queues afterwards.
